The Öschberghof, Donaueschingen, Germany

This quietly located Hotel Öschberghof in the Black Forest lacks nothing – not even secure access and control systems. To keep it that way, however, it needed an upgrade in terms of connectivity and ease of use. The Öschberghof is once again relying on solutions from MESSERSCHMITT Systems.

About the hotel

The Öschberghof lies between the Black Forest, Switzerland and Lake Constance, nestled in the gently rolling hills of the Baar, and is an ideal place to switch off and recharge your batteries. The 127 tastefully furnished rooms and suites provide a relaxing retreat.

The spacious SPA extends across 5,000 square metres and offers a varied wellness program. Sports enthusiasts can use state-of-the-art equipment both inside and outside the GYM. Golf fans can look forward to a special experience on three courses with a total of 45 holes and extensive practice facilities.

But the Öschberghof also has much to offer when it comes to food: Enjoy exquisite, first-class cuisine in its ÖSCH NOIR restaurant which has garnered two Michelin stars and 17 Gault Millau points. The ESSZIMMER restaurant is ideal for fans of sophisticated, seasonal cuisine with regional influences. The RISTORANTE & PIZZERIA HEXENWEIHER takes you into the world of Italian specialties, while the ÖVENTHÜTTE with its rustic charm offers Alpine delicacies. A selection of sushi and authentic Japanese dishes awaits you at TANÖSHI. Wine lovers can find special wines to take home in Häni’s Önothek, overseen by Michael Häni, the ÖSCH NOIR sommelier. The six different restaurants also offer a varied selection for celebrations and parties.

Task

A stay at the Hotel Öschberghof begins with guests checking in and entering one of the many luxuriously furnished hotel rooms. A smooth process is essential for an excellent guest experience. This is why the Öschberghof has been relying on the tried-and-tested access control systems from MESSERSCHMITT Systems for some time now. But now the time has come for an upgrade: The locking systems are to be renewed and replaced with modern systems. In addition, all access areas are to be networked online in future. One particular challenge is the replacement of two other existing solutions from other providers. In an effort to meet these extensive demands, MESSERSCHMITT Systems is working on an overall solution for the hotel.

It is always nice to be able to adapt the valuable investment made by a customer in their hotel – often several years ago – by adding new functions to meet increased requirements and thus bring it up to the latest state of the art. It is precisely these capabilities that make a manufacturer truly sustainable.

Solution

In the hotel’s luxurious rooms and suites, modern design meets innovative interior design – and that starts at the room door. Here, new Floorside panels replace the old system from MESSERSCHMITT Systems. With their discreet design, the new Magic Glass series online wall readers blend in perfectly with their elegant surroundings. With the help of the wall reader displays, the Öschberghof staff can easily recognize whether the guests do not want to be disturbed or if they wish their room to be cleaned.

The modern door fittings from the Magic Eye series and Magic Glass online wall readers are used to extend the locking system. In addition, a large number of weatherproof wall readers were installed in the doorbell and intercom systems. The back-of-house area now avails of offline door fittings from the Classic 3 series. The use of these solutions ensures that all access areas can be networked, giving the Öschberghof ease of use in managing its locking systems. In addition, this comprehensive solution enabled two existing systems to be replaced, so that the Öschberghof is now fully equipped with MESSERSCHMITT systems.
